About Wet Season Incredible Islands Tour - Horizontal Falls & Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm

Book Direct with the Owner at Wet Season Incredible Islands Tour - Horizontal Falls & Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm with Tourism Bookings WA in Broome, for all your Attraction and travel needs.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Horizontal Falls, King Sound Via Derby Talbot Bay, Buccaneer Archipelago, Talbot Bay, Western Australia 6728 Australia

Departing Broome, you track over the Chinatown district of Broome, sweeping over Roebuck Bay and surrounds. The flight path takes you over Malcolm Douglas Crocodile farm and the Broome Road before heading towards the Dampier Peninsula.

As you fly past the millions of hectares of station land, rich in Aboriginal Heritage, your pilot will regale you with stories and the history of the area before you enter the area known as the Buccaneer Archipelago. Looming ahead will be the Kimbolton Ranges, an ancient coastal seabed of the region. These ancient relics are the product of a once Devonian reef system. The thousands of islands that form the Buccaneer Archipelago become distinct. You are now over pristine pearl farming waters where only a few pearl farms of the archipelago become visible. Photo opportunities abound here.

The Horizontal Waterfalls soon come into sight as the aircraft is positioned to get the perfect view from the window. This magnificent example of Mother Nature’s power is closely aligned between the gorges of the McLarty Range, located in Talbot Bay. The Horizontal Falls are a fast moving tidal flow through two narrow fingers, the direction of the flow reverses with each change of tide. As tides in the Kimberley can reach ten metres, a peak tide gives rise to a significant difference in the sea level on either side of each gorge, which creates the rushing water and illusion of the Horizontal Falls.

Flying over Talbot Bay, the home of the famous Paspaley Pearling Empire, you see the hundreds of long lines each housing the valuable oysters that cultivate the pearl. Your Pilot weaves through the islands of Cockatoo and Koolan (mining empires) and heads towards Cape Leveque where the red rock cliffs meet the white sandy beaches bordering the pristine blue waters.

All guests will experience a Pearl Farm tour and delicious gourmet lunch.

Duration: 5 hours

Flew with Broome Aviation and awesome pilot Jon, who was so interesting & chatty & great commentary along the way. This is a stunning trip & Jon kept us well informed the whole trip. Landing at Cape LeVeque we enjoyed a very delicious full breakfast & they took into account my gluten free requirement. Epic views the whole way there & back. This is a must do if you visit Broome.

Our whole experience from start to finish was fabulous! Sangeeta was amazing during the booking process and made sure that we didn't miss out on this epic flight. Matt our pilot was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable on all things Broome and surrounds. The view from the plane is great and we loved that we got to circle the horizontal falls a few times so all passengers could see this amazing phenomenon. After cruising over the Buccaneer Archipelago, we landed at Cape Leveque for a cooked breakfast and some free time. The water at Cape Leveque was the most beautiful shade of blue and the perfect temperature for a quick dip before heading back to the plane for a quick flight back to Broome over the coast. Highly recommend taking a tour with Broome Aviation - a brilliant day with an amazing team!

Had a wonderful time on a perfect day. Loved the whole experience. Especially for a person that had a fear of flying in a small plane for the first time. Our Pilot Meg was very informative and helpful. Lovely girl. Lunch at Cape Leveque was great. Highly recommend.

We had such an amazing experience today visiting Cape Leveque and seeing the incredible Buchaneer Archipelago and Horizontal waterfalls. My kids, 4 and 1 year old, loved the trip also and did really well on the little plane that we had :-) After landing in Cape Leveque, we had a delicious fully cooked big breakfast waiting for us with cold juice, water and fresh fruits. A short 5-10 minute stroll from here took us to the most glorious beach that postcards are made of. The water a balmy 30 degrees and perfect for the kids and us to splash about in. The area has a beach shower and shade to dry off if needed. Once back aboard the Cessnar 210, we flew about 30 minutes over the Buchaneer Archipelago to the location of the horizontal falls. Our pilot Matt did a superb job doing two full circles around the falls in each direction so that we had plenty of time to take photos of this amazing natural phenomenon. From here, we flew back over land to Broome (about an hour). Both kids and husband fell asleep too on the way back :) We had read that the aircraft can get quite hot inside but we found it pleasant enough to not be bothered by any heat and it was definitely much cooler air flying up above than down on the ground in the shade. Also, whilst my husband and I are quite tall people (184 cm and 196cm) we found our seats roomy enough and much more space for legs compared to a standard commercial airline. I also had an infant seatbelt for my 14 minth old baby who was very relaxed on the trip. The views you see from the plane on the many islands of this part of the Kimberley's is so stunning... it has definitely inspired us to come back to this pocket of WA another time and see more of this region. Cannot recommend this tour more - no regrets and worth the cost.

We arrived in Broome just after the areas were re-opened due to COVID19. Everyone was still shaking the dust off their businesses to get ready for the school holidays, so getting *any* flight was originally not going to happen. However Broome Aviation somehow did the amazing and two sets of two happily boarded the light aircraft with Jaxon. The flight was simply fantastic and Jaxon well versed in the scenery and history of the areas we flew over. We landed at Cape Leveque, the Kooljaman camp for a lovely breakfast and a quick swim before we headed back via the Horizontal Falls. The scenery was magnificent, but it was enhanced by the competent handling of the aircraft to obtain the best views both sides of the plane and the commentary of an experienced pilot.
